Default 8r3z-18183-b is not the perfect solution to the thunking. UPDATE 10/29/08

Maybe its a normal wear item, but my TSB installed 8r3z-18183-b strut mounts are clunking again after 18,000 miles have been put on them.

Or course my car is now out of warranty and I'm stuck having to replace these on my own. About $120 for a pair of them.

If you warranty is about to run out, have the dealer inspect them just incase.

UPDATE!! 10-29-2008

I WAS WRONG. Okay, got that out of the way. Long story short, I installed steeda mounts, squeaking went away for a week. Then it was back. Put stock units back and and tightened the hell out of the top swar bar links. Squeaking is completely gone, even quieter than with the steeda mounts.

I apologize to ford and any else that I accidentally deceived. The mounts are still good.

That said, I now have some slightly used Steeda mounts for sale. less than a tank of gas on them.

yeah. i'm super happy. best part is this is money saved. funny part is I am now a pro at changing struts, springs, and mounts. Did both today in 1.5 hours, would have been faster but my impact died when I was decompressing the second spring.
