Default Newb questions - burnoffs

I tried the search function and can't find anything on some of these rather basic questions. I have a few.

1) What is a brake stand?

2) Is the 3v 4.6 GT stock capable of doing a nice smokey burnoff? Does it need more power or lower gearing?

3) If yes for #2, what is the best way to do a burnoff? Manual transmission.

4) How much wear/tear is this on the car and should I be worried?

I have an 06 w/CAI and 91 tune. Stock otherwise. I've managed to "peel" out several times either intentionally or on accident. But I've yet to try to do a nice smokey burnoff like I see in youtube vids.

steep gears (like 4:10 or greater), more power under the hood, and rev your engine high before "dropping" the clutch on your 5 speed... and for best "stand-still" burn, put line locks on your front brakes. Not sure why this is something you aspire to do as tires do get expensive along with the time required to remove all the tire debris from your rear quarter panels:-)

If your right foot is big enough, press the gas pedal and brake at the same time and let off the clutch for a stand still burnout. Like Doogie65 said, hope you have plenty of money for rear tires.

Of course it can do a burnout (never heard it called a burnoff before!). I can do a burnout in my wifes Nissan Murano if I powerbrake it enough!

Is this how people do it in the burnout box if they have a manual?

I do have line locks...

Brake stand:
when you hold the brake down and press on the gas at the same time. only works on rear-wheel cars. produces a lot of smoke and tire marks on the hot top

The fact that you are calling it a burnoff scars me that you want to learn this. If you have ever had to clean the rubber from just chirpping a gear here and there on the quarters you will soon see why you don't want to do burnouts with this car. Wheels sit even with the body so rubber goes everywhere, not a good look.
