The fusion keys work on 07+ cars. Not the 05-06.

I think even the 07 has to be a late 07 to be able to do it.

The problem with the fusion key is that ford changed the transponder chip in the 07's and the fusion key will only work as a fob and dumb key on 05+06 and wont actualy start the car.

To program a spare key you have to have both original keys.

The 2008 Fusion key's remote functions do NOT work on the 2005 or 2006 Mustang.

I just bought a FOB off Ebay, $12.50 brand new. The instructions for programming it are in the owners manual. You have to program all the fobs you have at once. You have to do it very quickly too. Took me a couple of trys but I got it. I now have 3 working fobs. I think you can have a max. of 4.

Yeh you don't have to pay for programming...the fobs come with instructions. Very simply turn the ignition on and off 8 times, the doors will lock and then press any button on the fob and then its programed. If you don't do both fobs at the same time, then only the fob you just programed with work. With the fusion key, to program the chip in the key, turn the igntion on and off 10 times, then it will program your key, again you need to do all your keys at the same time. I have an early '07 (I bought it in 9/06) and the Fusion key worked with mine. It will only work '07 and newer.

get a fob off of ebay, man. it'll save you a lot of money versus the stealership.

I have no idea how many fobs you can have except for 2007. The Owner's Guide for 2007 says maximum of six.
