I've used silicone spray in the wheel wells and select areas under the hood for detailing. I'm thinking it would have the same result just a little cleaner and shinny'er.

I do it every year. Many companies do this takes about an hour and costs $80. Little messy for about a week, but it works great to combat rust from road salt.

I agree with the majority........what a disgusting mess. Where do you park in your vehicle for the week of this being a nasty mess? I, personally wouldn't park it in my garage for a messy floor. I wouldn't park it in the driveway for the same reason and the home owner association doesn't like oil spots. The city and home owner association doesn't like the spots in the street.

Doesn't really snow here but I don't see why everyones knocking it. If it works for ya, keep on with it. Your 02 250's a heck of a lot cleaner than my 02 250 so somethings working for you. And i'm OCD about keeping her clean to...

I agree but if the car never sees salt (or water for that matter) then all I am fighting is humidity and its not like I live in a tropical environment. Remember if storing the car in winter in a garage or enclosed area that the humidity is less in the winter than in the summer. By all means if a DD or sees water and salt than oil the cars underside up!

Sorry but I am a country bumpkin and we have gravel driveways and NO HOMEOWNER ASSOC! Keep them outside for the week and then after that very minimal mess in the garage, and I have a painted garage floor.

ha ha yes you can oil the car and yes it will protect it untill the oil wears off but you are better off undercating the car really well and i mean pull off driveshaft and heat shield kinda job. you'd be suprised on how nice it sounds inside after doing it too!

if this was the case i would just take the extra time 2 use something like POR15 or some kind of permanent protective coating and cover all the potential rust spots...would add some weight but be most effective

You southern guys have no idea how good you have it SALT SUCKS just cause some people cant drive in snow they are now spraying Liquid Calcuim cloride on the roads up here. Under coated my 88 ranger body stayed fine but driveshft rusted in half had to drive home on the front axle then brake drum rusted out. lol I like the idea of the aircraft stuff. there is also that ground system that hooks up to your battery that gives the car a negative charge saw it on two guys garage costs like 300 bucks though
