I am currently working with 3 mustang shops at getting quotes for cams and installs. One shop wants to go with FRPP Cams and Install with a Dyno Tune for $1700. Next shop quote was for Comp (NSR) Cams from Brenspeed and install $1350 with no dyno tune. The Third shop wants to do custom ground Bullet cams (NSR) insall and dyno tune for $1600. Have not decided on where I am going to go yet.

OP, What are your long term goals?

If you dont ever want to forge and make crazy power, heads and cams are a waste of money if you eventually want FI.

Almost any FI kit will give you 460+ rwhp on a stock longblock which is all the stock block will take.

If you really do want insane hp and plan a complete rebuild you are still better to get the FI first. Reason being that whatever you choose for heads and cams will be specific to your chosen combo. Plus installing FI specific hardware without FI will probably loose HP or at the very least not give you too much.

I know it is difficult but if you have the Money for heads and cams ($3k + at least) you are about half way to FI. Just save your pennies and wait to do it right.

You will be much happier in the end.

Worst case buy a used Nitrous kit and play with that for a while. 75 shot is very safe for out motors. I suggest finding a Zex kit.

Good Luck.
