Default Anyone have a Watts Link installed.

I'm considering a Watts Link from either Saleen or Steeda. It replaces the Panhard bar but is quite expensive. Just wondering if its worth the money and if its any good without any other rear suspension upgrades. If anyone has first hand knowledge please describe your experience. I am very aware of the body shifting to the side when going around tight, fast corners and I'd like to have a more stable feel to the car. Its especially noticeable on freeway entrance/exit ramps if I try to push it too much.

Thanks

I was looking into the Watts link for my car but changed my mind for 2 reasons...

1. Price, it's alot of money to spend on one suspension part.
2. I was told that the only way you would benifit from the Watts link is if you are a serious road racer, which I am not.

If you look around there are a few more options out ther for a Watts then just those two like Fays and Lakewood that are a bit more reasonable although I'm unsure of how they compare quality wise since I believe clamp on to the rear axle in a less rigid fashion. In addition SMS is going to be producing a billet watts which should be bomb proof, but I'm sure it will be really expensive.

Guys, I thank you for the info. The SMS one is the same as the Saleen... right?

I'll check out the Fays and Lakewood when I get a chance. I need more info before I spend that much cash. I'd still like to talk to someone with personal experience about this.

I'm no road racer but I do like the benefit of the extra traction on the rear and more stability. I have thought about the lakewood as others seem to be way over priced. Lakewood seems to be one the better bangs for the buck as opposed to paying for the Steala price. I know there are arguements for the panbar but I'm going watts after the clutch install.

What you need to do is drop down a level or two into the 4.6L Handling section and do a search. This has come up for discussion a number of times, and the folks who provide the tech to those discussions don't tend to spend much time up here.

Here's the forum, the rest is up to you.

As far as I know Saleen and the SMS Watts are completely different. The SMS is cnc'd from billet aluminum while I believe the Saleen is made of tubular steel and mounts directly to the dif cover.
