Default Shelby CS-69 Wheels / Larger in rear?s

Guys, I love the retro look of the Shelby 69 wheels but I need a little input if you will. I love the look of larger wheels in the rear, on a lowered car, that old school muscle car look, so here is my thoughts: I would like to put the CS-69 wheels on my car, 18 X 9.5 in the front and 20 X 10 in the rear, the car will be lowered also. What size wheels have you guys gone with, having a similar wheel configuration?

you'll be lucky if you hear from anyone running those sizes. the main issue you'll run into is making it so that front tire sidewalls aren't taller than the rears, as that would look like ***, but to run wheels with the same size sidewalls, you're going to have very short/skinny tires on the front, so you'll have to lower it considerably (say, eibach sportlines) in order to eliminate some of the additional wheel gap that the extra short tires will cause, and that point, between the short tires and the lowest springs you can find (to make it look 'right'), you'll basically be dragging the ground just about everywhere you go. it'll look great though! if you really want to run an 18/20 combo, this is the only to go, because if run a taller sidewall on the front, it'll not only look bad, but will also defeat the purpose of having a staggered wheel setup in the first place.

can you tell that I considered this at one point?

Stick with 18's all around and put a 35 on the front and wider, 45 on the rear. That should give you a similar look. Can't say how it would handle, though...

it actually looks great. I remember seeing a pic of a stang with 20/22's and it was sick.

I suppose if ran 40 series tires, you could maintain some decent sidewall (say, 275/40-18 w/ 285/40-20).

I was seriously looking at those wheels before I decided on my Konig Beyonds. Those are great looking wheels . IMO I would just go with all 18s or 20s, I agree with nite that it would look weird. I would love to see pics when you get them on.

Thanks for the input guys! I have to say, I haven't decided to actually go with these sizes, I just wanted to bounce it off some members here. So 20s all the way around? I do want a little wider tire in the rear, that's why I asked about the 10" in the rear and the 9.5" in the front. So I should be good with same size all the way around, high wise, but I can go a little wider in the rear?

Degeze...rims look sick!

Going wider in the rear is fine. I plan on getting 18x10 in the rear and 18x9 in the front. I read somewhere that you really don't want to go wider than 9 in the front.

I want these in chrome: http://www.cruizinconceptswholesale....ts.asp?cat=308

I've actually thought about this myself, I think the 350z may have had an option like that a few years ago, not sure if they still do but I remember liking the look.
