Some offset, maybe 3/8 inch, comes from the factory actually on the GTs. When you add the springs, you can increase that by a bit and get maybe an inch, .5 on each side, out of spec
I just went outside and made some pre-lowering measurements on my '08 GT. I taped some string to the top edge of the rear wheel well and measured the distance to the center of the rear wheels. Driver side was 1 3/4 inches. Passenger side was 1 5/8 inches. Interesting. I guess I have a tiny bit of allowance to shift towards the driver side and still be near center.

BTW, front height from the ground to the top edge of the fender wheel well was 28 1/8 inches. Rear was 28 7/8 inches. This is with 17" wheels and 235/55 tires (Nero Zero's with 2500 miles).

Yes...once you lower the car & install the adjustable panhard bar you can set the adjuster and tighten the jam nuts so that it doesn't get misaligned again.

Get any spring you want and a adj panhard bar to re-center the rear....Tacobill has a write up on the install and you could do it yourself. very easy IMO and I am not a mechanic. You even get the torque specs for the one time bolts that Ford uses. If you cant get them to stay at the recommended ft.lbs (129 ft/lbs for the LCA's for example) then go to the dealer and get new hardware for the suspension parts that were replaced. Lower that beast! I know you have been talking baout it in other threads.....so do it and you will not have any regrets!

Most people go with the Adjustable Panhard bar, but if you want a way to "prevent it," the answer is getting a Watts Link. The Watts will never get out of alignment side-to-side even under compression. you really don't need it unless you really push the car on a track, but some people like it on the street, it will also fix that side-to-side motion the car makes when you go over a bump on the freeway sometimes; you know how the back end will feel like it's kind of stepping out?

Good explanation I had never considered it until I ran into this piece and it seems pretty rock solid for the price, but I'm going to do some more research before I jump right into it.
