Default Viper 5900 How To Install Help

I am looking for information regarding the installation of a Viper 5900 alarm system on a 08 GT, manual tranny. The alarm is a 2 way security with remote start, good for a mile range.

I've found wiring diagrams online but no concrete "how-to" or guide/help in installing one of these alarms. I've also installed the old 790 system on my previous 02 f-150 but the mustang seems more sophisticated. Any help or tips?

Every wire you need is in the sjb passenger kick panel, tap all your ign and remote start wires right under the steering wheel. Just make sure you make it all work and then tape the **** out of it make it look stock. There are wire location guides online some where. Not really diagrams but it tells you the color and location.

Thanks. Will I have to run any bypasses at all?

I decided not to install the "remote start" part of the system in fear of other idiots touching it (valet, possible family, friends) and leaving the vehicle in gear, etc.

Yeah you have to run the ignition bypass from DEI. I forgot which one just call a local alarm place because i know its a newer model than the bypass i used.

Man, you are crazy if you install that yourself and have never done one. I would just pay to have it done. I was planning on doing mine a couple years ago, got all into it, and started reading. Then just had someone do it... But if you are asking for help, then you should just pay for it to be done correctly.

No one else?

Just doing the alarm itself, not the remote start.

Replied to your PM.

The alarm install is not that difficult and you have a better piece of mind because you can route your own wiring and mount the brain where you want. The sensors and sirens where you want and solder and shrink the wires instead of the half assed T-tap/scotch lock method that 90% of installers use. The only thing a "professional" has is speed and that's because they cut corners.

If you are asking, I would not attempt it.
Unless you have a couple of free days to spend on the installation.
Here is the online wiring diagrams. All the info you need is HERE.
Be aware that the S197 is a lot different with the SJB being used and full
knowledge of vehicle electrical wiring will be needed.
Its not an average DIY project.
Solder and heatshrink EVERY connection.
Proper siren placement is critical to an un-bypassable working system.
Interior pain generators are a must.
The FORD PATS system is the best defense againt unwanted starting so a starter bypass circuit is an unneeded option. Heck, most are stolen, sirens blaring being taken away by a tow truck driving theif.
Not really sure what alarms are good for except the 'coolness' factor.
