Changed over to some GT500 wheels and tires about a week ago. Everything was working great until last night when the "Tire Pressure Monitor Fault" was displayed on my dash.

Who is the expert on these things? Is there a way to know which tire it is without going to the dealer? Is there something I need to do to get these TPS sensors to work with my car (even though they worked for a week?)

i'm pretty sure the stock sensors shouldn't be affected by the new wheels... can those sensors just go bad? I'm really glad ii don't have the TPS...

well first off, check these things, are all the tires the same size if you bought new tires. are all the tires within the threshold of the sensor which is 30 to 35 psi. any higher trips it and of course lower sets it off. its tough to find the one that is not working. IF you had it done at a shop bring it back and let them know and they should honor your problem. there is one way though to trick the system. There is one tire that you should have that stays at the same pressure and that is your spare tire. put all the sensors in the spare put it to 35 psi and that will help with new rims. good luck

The wheels are off of a GT500, take offs with 30 miles on them. They had the OEM sensors already in them, I didn't use the ones that were on my car. '

So do I need to do something to get the sensors from the GT500 wheels to work with my car?

Do you know if the TPMS was trained to recognize the new sensors? If not, there is a tool available over the parts counter that will let you do this yourself. Not that expensive (~$20), and would be useful if you swap between the OE and GT500 wheels/tires depending on the season/anticipated weather. I don't know off the top of my head what the part number is, but it's for the E-series vans. Can find out if you need it, though.

ok well i found your problem, the sensors in the gt500 tires are a different code then the ones that are in you stock tires. the computer will only recognize the codes from the stock ones. you will need to delete the old codes and input the new ones.
