Well, I'm off to my local dealer in a few hours to see if I can snag myself a Ford Mustang GT. I'm tired of waiting and debating -- it's time to pull the trigger. My parents are trying to get me to save up $5,000.00 before I buy the car but I can't -- I have no patience (and I can easily afford the payments). Plus, it will be the 2006 model year before I can save up enough (and I want a 2005 now -- before summer is over -- darnit!!).

I've figured out what I want:

Ford Mustang GT Premium Coupe (hardtop)
Automatic (I have no idea how to drive a manual transmission)
Sonic Blue or Mineral Grey (I love both colors but I'm giving myself some room here in case they don't have one or the other)
Dark Charcoal Interior
Interior Upgrade Package

I'm so excited I can't stand it. I couldn't sleep all night. AAAAAaaaarrrgggghhh...!!!

Addendum: I'm 25 and I should be able to do what I want to with my own money, no? I wonder why my parents are still doing this to me at this age. Bah!!

Good luck to you. One thing I learned while shopping for mine.. you can't be choosy this late in the model year. I hope they have what you want, but you may have to settle on color.

Anything else can be added later if you want.

Actually, good luck finding ANY 05 GT on a dealer's lot. It can happen, sure, but it will be the exception, rather than the rule.

This late in the year you will have little if any choice. I would imagine you will have to do some searching to find a GT but you should be able to find one. You probably won't get exactly what you want though. I live in western Canada and it is difficult but not impossible to find a GT on a dealer's lot here. My dealer usually manages to keep one on the lot most of the time but they sell fast. Best of luck to you!

Well, I found PLENTY of GTs at the two dealerships I went to. However, none in the exterior/interior color I want to get. I may end up saving $5k first and getting an '06 Mustang GT, sell my current vehicle, and make a phat ($10k) downpayment on it so I can still move out into my own apartment a few months afterward without the pain of a HUGE car payment. I'll be able to save up $5k by October and order an '06 model. Yeah. That's a plan!

I picked mine up Saturday Morning, and I love it. I am definetly glad I waited. I have to get the windows tinted today, and it is pouring down rain, but at least the weekend was beautiful.
