bama tune
i am currently runing the 93 race tune and i love it, except "launches" are impossible!!!! i can't get the car to hold an rpm, and i have had sports cars with manuals all my life....when i load the performance 93 tune, i can hold the rpm's and launch great...i have talked to doug many times.......it all comes down to that wicked throttle response....he told me that on a dyno,"the 93 performance and 93 race will be within a couple of horses if that",,,,

The Race tune only uses the first 50% of the throttle. That's why throttle response is so much improved, and it can get jerky in first gear until you get used to it. You only have half as much pedal to use for control.
I'm going to have to have Doug check out my tune. I thought it was my tire size/gear combo (because I had 28" tires and 3.31 gears) causing the bog. But I changed to a 26" tire, and even leaving at 5k, I still bog!

I guess I am not the only one that has a difficult time launching the race tune. I also have a hard time holding the RPMS. When I try to launch, I must give it too much throttle because my RPMS shoot up and I get tire spin. I am trying to feather the clutch. My 60' times are 2.4 and my 1/8 mile is 9.1 to to 9.4. Now if I leave in Idle my 60' time is 2.3 and 1/8 mile is 8.8 to 9.0.

I went out last night and started the car, because this thread had me missing mine (stupid winter weather ugh). I was able to modulate the RPMs. But I do remember it took a while to get used to. You have to practice, and use very small movements of the pedal.
