Default I like my Hurst shifter........so far.

Well I spent alot of time trying to find the very best short shifter I could for my new 08. I was partial to the Hurst as I saw one at the dealership when I bought the car and wanted it. Anyway, come to find out its pure evil, a rattly piece of crap that ruins lives left and right.

So, I decided it just give it a shot. I looked on ebay for a used one. I ended up finding a new one for $135. for that price it was worth a try. So I bought it.

Installed this afternoon...and so car, I LIKE it. I know its not a common opinion around here but I really do. Yes, it apparently does rattle. but it doesn't seem to be a deal breaker so far. its a plastic sounding buzz type rattle that isnt that noticeable but at high rpms. its not like a metal on metal rattle. I threadlocked everything that needed to stay in place and lubed everything that needed to move, I did it all and it still rattles. Its the shifter.

but it looks better than every other shifter both stock and otherwise. The shifts are really REALLY short, 50% shorter by my best guess. It doesn't shift into gears it clicks into them. its not notchy and its really tight feeling all over. probibly due to the urethane bushings. I'm willing to bet they cause the rattles as well. but its a great shifter. Its comfortable and its the perfect height. So far, I really don't any real issues with it. its not really a tough install either. Its a pain on ramps but its not hateful by any means. overall I really like it so far.

yeah its not bad, but my paint started chipping off early and on cold days the hurst ball gets very cold. another than that, its not a bad shifter.

glad to see I'm not alone. It does rattle some, but its so much stiffer than stock that it really doesn't surprise me much.

just out of curiosity, out of all you that really like em, do yours rattle as well? That seems to be the main complaint folks have about the shifter.
