well for all of you who have or think you have this rattle its very easily diagnosied. Just sit in the drivers seat and hit the headrest of the passenger seat from the side, if you get a nasty ratltle keep on hitting it to find your enemy and then bring it to ford. i will show it to the service manager tommorow durring my second interview and see what he sais, about the rattle and me working for ford... (the coolest one SVT, ROUSH and all the cool toys shop)

mr bape
Try holding onto the handle of the window switches and i bet thats where the rattles are coming from. ford has a tsb out on that. the solve is some double sided thick tape underneath the switch pannel to make the seal tighter. Try it under high bass but you can also find it with radio announcer speaking it just buzzes its a tsb and ford has to fix it

Some 2005-2008 Mustang vehicles built before

I have that same darn rattle. I to thought it was the converible. I had a 79 Camaro and the noise was very reminiscent. Like you I held the seat and no more rattle. I had the car in. They said they took off the leather covers and a hook was undone so they rehooked it. On my way home it was okay. Then two days later it returns. I took it back
they had the same tech work on it. He said he checked and the hook was still hooked. We then went for a test drive. He sat in the passenger seat and I told him it would not rattle if he was in it. He said the door handle insert was loose and he fixed that and he couldnt hear a rattle. I have had the car back now for weeks and it is worse than ever. Do I try to take it back a third time and see if these deaf techs can hear it. Of course on the test drive I couldnt find a rough stretch. If the tech rode to work with me into Chicago he would have plenty to hear. It is driving me nuts!

BTW it is an O6 Convertible with Pony Package and leather seats.

I have some weird rattles as well.

1) My E-Brake Rattles. It's the plastic part around the base of it but I don't really know what to do about it...

2) I have a rattle in my dash on the far left (driver's side). Slight pressure makes it stop and it only rattles when it's cold. I assume a piece is contracting due to the weather and rattling and it's so frustrating to know that it is right there and slight pressure stops it but I can't get to it...

Any solutions on these?

I also had the rattle from the passenger seat. It was a broken spring. The dealer fixed it for free under warranty.

I have the passensger seat rattle as well. When it starts in the car and no one is riding with me, I just jam my wallet between the console and the seat lol. Works great so I don't worry about it too much. I agree with the person earlier who said that the older Mustangs seem to have less rattles. My 04 seemed less cheap on the interior.

You could always sell the seat and thicken your wallet up a little bit.

Oh wait, that sort of defeats the purpose, now doesn't it.
