I notice this whenever I am at idle with the ac or the heater on. Its like a big "thud" noise. It does this prob. every 3-5 min. I only notice it at idle. Is this normal? I dont remember it sounding like that a while ago... I know there will be a noise, but this just doesnt seem right. Any ideas? Take her in?

I know its normal to have some type of noise, but this seems to be a little much.

The noise from mine isn't so much a thunk noise, but it is pretty loud, and anoying. for mine it's more like a pop, and I've had it since the car was new.

Yeah, well I might take her in and have it checked out. Its pretty annoying. I keep my heater off so I dont have to hear it, but its getting pretty cold out.

I have that noise too and it annoys the crap out of me. Not unless it's really loud though, they won't do a thing about it and just tell you it's normal. Hope you have that rent a car reimbursement

if it's what i'm thinking, it's normal. pretty sure it's the compressor making the sound; ford just decided to place it in a spot where everyone and their brother can hear it
