Default Loudest headers: LT's, shorties, stock manifolds

i'm in sort of a discussion about which exhaust headers is the loudest. assuming the rest of the exhaust stays the same (of course you must switch midpipes for LT's), o/r mid pipe or catted, axle back. but just changing the headers, which one is loudest, LT's, shorties, or stock manifolds. after voting please give an explanation and sound clips if you got them, to explain your theory. thanks.

No discussion. LT's give the car sooo much more of a performance sound. Night and day.

User whtcanbrwnd04u has some before/after vids with the LT's. big sound difference.

I got a related question and I think starting a new thread would just be silly. Let's say you get pulled over because your car is too loud. Is it going to be a "fix-it" ticket where you'll have to put it back to stock or is it going to be a ticket where you just pay for... I think it's called noise pollution?

yes i remember his posts very well. he said that the LT's didnt make much difference at idle or regular driving, but was louder at WOT. i looked up his vids on youtube, but didnt find a clip which had the same setup but w/ only switching the headers, some had h pipe, x pipe, borlas, LM's. looking for some video proof. on another forum, not going to mention any names, but all them say that the stock manifolds are the loudest, then shorties, then LT's are the quietest. seems all backwards to me. just keep the opinions coming and post some vids if you got 'em.

and i think that regarding the ticket for noise polution, i've heard of both scenarios both the fix it ticket and the pay for ticket. but would be hard to prove in court w/out a decible meter reading, bc in court you could say how loud was it, and if the cop doesnt have a decible reading, how can he prove it was too loud. it's like giving a speeding ticket w/out a radar reading.

I had an off-road pipe on with the LT's and cams. It was sooo hella loud that I put the catted pipe back on the very next day. with cat's I can motor around basically undetected by the cops or anyone else but when I open it up.. it gets really loud.

the LT's, even when it's not as "loud" just give it a different tone. It's more performance sounding, revs up quicker and much smoother downrev's with no popping and wheezing. flows betta'. I've never heard my exhaust "pop" on accel/decel even with the offroad h-pipe.
