Why don't my headlights and tailights turn on when I unlock the car?

Oh well..
Well I guess most of you are right, even though it would be kinda cool and novelty at first or in certian late night parked area's (liek bars and night clubs) it probably would get old and anyoying all the time. Also I talked to my friend thats a tech at Ford and he said the same thing, 05's-06's do NOT have this option at all However he did say if you really want it it is possible to get a whole new onboard computer and do some software hacking and flashing! But would be a waste of time and money! LOL..

If you could hack the S197s SJBs programming,
then you would become a very rich man real quick.
I have yet to seen it be done...

I'd rather not tip off anybody watching the lot that my car was unlocked and that I was in the immediate vicinity.
Mine got turned off within the first week or so.
Which reminds me, I need to find out if I can turn off the parking lamp flash on unlock for my wife's Subie.

Yeah, I think all Mustangs had the same keyless "yay only the inside dome light comes on" option til 07. In my friend's 06 Mustang, it does the same thing my 03 does when the unlock button is pushed.
But yeah, I'd honestly think that's a waste of time and money to go through the trouble to have it on. Unless you're just **** about it.

Yea, if you loose your keys and fob in wally world,
it makes it real easy for the finder of the keys to
find the stang that responds to the fob and has the
perimeter lighting option turned on.
Its really not good for stangs with HIDs.
Strobing or just turning on then off HIDs kills the bulb life...

The other one?
Eventually, most people manage to lock their keys inside the car (some cars more easily than others). I'd much rather cuss at myself for a few seconds fumbling in my pocket for the fob than for a half hour waiting for AAA or whoever to get there. Undoubtedly, my wife as the potential witness to same would agree . . .
