Borla Stinger Drone Thread# 999 Billion and counting.

The Drone isn't slight I can handle it but it's so bad at time I get nauseas. But the way you all are talking about it maybe I do have a leak and that's why its making it so bad...... when i go home tonight I am gonna crank up the clamps and see it it helps.

i moved the clamps over the notch where the mufflers stop over the O/A pipe. that took out alot of drone. but when i installed mine i had some issues as discussed in another thread. honestly i love the drone i think it sounds sick with it.

Right now I have them installed next to it.... maybe i will try moving them back over it a bit thanks for the help Mike. Just need to get home =) Actually wouldn't it be best if you put the part of the clamps with the screw right over the notch thingy and then clamp it down since I bet the weakest part of the clamp is right there? I am hoping it's just a extra bad because I am an idiot and didn't clamp them in a good spot and tight enough. Everyone with borla's as there only Exhaust mod mind taking a quick pic of how you have em clamped on? Would help me alot.

Well I hear the X-Pipe basically gets rid of the drone.... but I don't want one if I wanted an X-Pipe type sound I would have gotten the Corsa's keep in mind guys this is an automatic I can't control what gear I am in as much as you Manual guys. Was hoping for some mroe positive answers but oh well I can deal with it maybe I need to tighten the clamps a bit more... Maybe it's just a leak..

I had Stringers.
I had Stingers with a Bassani catted X-pipe. The x-pipe made the exhaust more agressive. But it didn't help or hurt the drone.
I put bmxht (sp) or something like that sound deadener in the back half of the car. Even spring for the optional foam like stuff to put on top of that. No difference at all in drone.
People swear by resonators. I never figured out what a resonator was. It seems if you put glass packs on your car instead of mufflers, then those are called "glass packs". But if you put glass packs under your car between the mufflers and manifold/headers, then they are called "resonators". Some swear by using a pypes mid-muffler as a resonator. I didn't want to hack up my exhaust pipes so I gave up on the Stingers.
BTW, what's this stuff about drone only at some narrow rpm range. I had unacceptable drone from anywhere above IDLE up to 2100 rpm. Of course the drone was a lot louder in the famous 2000 rpm range, bit it was plenty damn loud all the way down to idle.
