4" driveshafts

i am thinking about buying a shaftmasters 4" driveshafts. are there any issues i should know about? i probably will not lower the car cause i like the stance it has now. i have the factory shifter in there now but i would like to add a aftermarker shifter later.

i bought a 4" aluminum driveshaft from shaftmasters about a year and a half ago. it is very nice looking and installtion was fairly easy. when i first put it on, my 05 manual gt was stock height with stock 17" wheels. there was zero vibration or noise at any speed. i made sure and torqued down the bolts at even increments. i have since put 20" wheels on and lowered it 1 inch. i have no clearance issues and still no vibration.

I heard a lot of people say that it's one of the best bang for the buck mods out there after CAI/tune, but then as I did my research on this particular forum I realized that it's quite a gamble and there's a good chance that it will vibrate so bad that after you hit 90 you won't be able to tell what's in your rearview mirror because of vibration. I also heard that the chance of that happening is higher with autos than manuals. Since most of the driving I do is highway where I'm over a 100 (highway I take to work with no cops on it) that's something I really don't wanna be putting up with.
Here's one of the threads I ran into:

Any one piece DS if installed correctly and pinion angle is right the car will not have vibration like bruno stated above. I too want the shaftmasters DS and they are very reputable and IMO this is not for the avg do it yourselfer unless you understand drivetrain geometry. I would have any experienced pro that has installed these into the S197's do it and get a warranty against vibration. I will state you will feel more connected to the car and little (key word little) vibration can be felt as that is the draw back for having a one piece DS. Why do you think Ford made ours heavy and a 2-piece DS?...To absorb some of the drivetrain NVH !

I had a 4" Shaftmasters and now have a 3 1/2" Shaftmasters. My car is lowered with Steeda springs and I had/have no vibrations up to 130 mph with either shaft. Both are well made DS's but I don't think they make a 3 1/2" DS anymore.

I haven't had any vibration problems with my 4" Shaftmasters. The car accelerates much quicker and is much smoother over the stock driveshaft. The stock driveshaft vibrated - the dealer tech could never feel it but after the new shaft it went away.

And I drive 45 miles one way to work each day, many times up at 80 to stay with traffic with no issues, and have a lot of track passes at 100 mph with no problems.

4" BMR 1-piece aluminum here, over 2K miles on it since installation, rock solid up to 130MPH :D Great mod IMO.
