California emissions on '09 in VA
I've been prodding local dealers for a deal on an '09. One of the cars has the CA Emissions System , listed as "No Charge" , on the window sticker. I recycle my aluminum, plastic and bottles but I'm not too scared to burn fossil fuel. Can anyone think of a detriment to having the next generation of emissions control - maintenance and such - on an otherwise 49 State Legal Mustang?
Probably keep my V6 anyway, but if the $ is right.... That new-car-smell is pretty nice.

I get the reference. I read your thread but didn't feel it was appropriate to hi-jack. I came away from the dealer today kinda wondering what the deal might be with a CA vehicle in uptight Virginia.
In the past, at least here on the East coast, I've witnessed people showing receipts, pictures, etc. in court that verify their compliance with exhaust laws. Don't ask me how I know.
Good thing it's not a ticket for a Harley exhaust! You'd be F'ed.

StangHarley, all that means is it complies with Ca. emission standards wich are the most stringent in the country. Alot of other states just follow Cali's lead and adopt thier standards. I don't think you will have a problem in Va. with Ca. emissions. I had to get it on my 09GT here in Pennsylvania.
