Default DANG IT PASCAL!...u got me thinking.

seeing that pascal made his very own panhard bar it got me thinking a little bit about what other suspension components can be made and i have a couple if ideas. I am good friends with a guy that owns a local machine shop and he said he will machine anything i want to it has given me some ideas.

Lower control arms...possibly longer then some aftermarket ones.
LCA relocation brackets...made sold so they wouldnt need to be welded in.
Anything else that could be machined pretty easy?

Why would you want longer LCA's? You just need them adjustable to adjust the pinion angle. That's the sole purpose of upgrading control arms, along with the stiffer bushings to control wheel hop. LCA brackets could work.

Be careful with suspension components...
Panhard bar is one thing, but LCA and other stuff are within a certain geometry tolerance...
You sure don't want to disrupt that.

Elongate the LCA and what happens to the tie-rod ends? They need to be longer as well.
Also and worse challenge, how are you gonna hook up your now far away spindle to your strut and having the wheels standing straight?
Lots of headache if you ask me...

Longer LCA would only be appropriate if they end up parallel with the ground. See link.

BTW, Pascal got a new pic in your signature? Your car looks AWESOME!

I agree.....panhard is a basic component that has a small role in things and is rather simple. You MIGHT be able to replicate some relocation brackets but even then they are a very cheap product to begin with.

The is a good deal of R&D that goes into products and its not something you design over the weekend. Most people dont need adj LCAs either. Then can get a set for around $100-120. I would be curious what the cost to fab up your own would be.

I commend you and Pascal and your creativity for for sure, but remember this is a rolling death machine if something perhaps breaks while cruising down the freeway going 75.

well im on a race team here at my college and i have alot of programs that i would run my models through like anysys and solid edge, but im thinking if you made the control arm brackets a little longer or angled them back and then made the control arms longer it would almost act like ladder bars...i dunno, im going to do some more research but making them strong enough wont be a problem at all.
