Default Question on temperature rear view mirror

Has anyone installed or had installed a rear view mirror with an outside temp reading?? There is the Ford accessories one, which I believe is just a Gentex one re-packaged. Anyway, I bought the Gentex. My problem is that the outside temp reading is incorrect, too hot. I've followed the instructions....still heats up too much, too many horses maybe? If anybody has this working, I'd like to know where your temp sensor is placed? Thanks a lot!

I would think it goes in the fresh air inlet under the wipers?

On my BMW, the temp sensor is mounted just under the right side of the front bumper. it is very accurate.

Sounds like a good place to put it.

The optional Ford mirror sensor goes behind the front bumper as described by PW. There's a long mirror thread on one of the other forums, but I seem to recall you have to remove the right front wheel and inner fender and then you can route the wire forward to the bumper.
