Seriously, any chance it smells musty? If so, check the carpet on the passenger side near the kick panel. These cars have a water leak problem that may have caused some carpet odor, even if the leak was fixed. If not, my original suggestion prevails.

It wouldnt smell kinda like eggs would it (no pun intended) or sulfer like? I know my exhaust smells like that and it can be pretty noticable and gross at times. Also the tick is pretty normal. It has that diesel like truck tick doesnt it? I know mine does it. I wouldnt worry, unless the tick becomes a knock

I am kinda surprised I can answer this but Its not that big of deal. when I installed my new exhaust system it smelled like it for a little while and then went away...no problems or anything..
