I think in some cars the electric window lift assembly is actually lighter than the complete mechanical equivalent would be. Know I read it somewhere not on the internet, just don't remember where.

I chased parts (among other duties) for a while at a local Chevy dealership a few years ago. Window "modules" were fairly common items. No way did they weigh more than a very few lbs apiece or I'd have remembered that. Can't believe that Ford's modules or whatever they call them would be much different. As heavy as cars have become, there is continuous pressure to keep them from getting heavy any faster (EPA smog certification and fuel mileage testing is set up according to vehicle weight).
