Default Door ajar light and beep

OK - this is annoying the snot out of me. The door ajar light and sound is going off almost constant. All doors closed, opened, and re-closed.

Anyone have any ideas? Driving at 20-30 in town with the stereo down its a constant freaking beep, flash of light, beep, flash of light, beep, flash of light - you get the picture. Sure - I could turn up the radio and ignore it, but need to know what the issue is!!!!

Not under warranty anymore. I guess I'll have to try to mess with it myself. Maybe I can disable it. Anyone know how to do that?

just replace the switch, it's locate on the latch.
drivers door switch part# 4L2Z-13713-AA
passenger side part# 4L2Z-14018-AA
hood part# 4R3Z-14018-AA
trunk part# 7R3Z-14018-A
only problem is figuring out which 1, you might be able to unplug each switch 1 at a time
and see if your lamp goes off.

I think its the drivers side one - the window has been acting up too....as in it raises up when the door is open when its supposed to stay down until closed. (you know - that 1/4 inch movement it makes.)

Thanks.

UPDATE: OK - so I called Ford dealer to ask about cost of them fixing it and lets just say since I knew it was an $18 part, their quote was very unreasonable. So - I ordered the part.

Quick rundown of replacement:

remove drivers door panel - note there are 11 total bolts/screws to remove to take the panel off, also you need to unhook the power mirror, power windows, speaker wiring and door handle cable.

remove water shield - or do like I did and using a utility knife, cut through the bead used to seal it and peel it back about 50% in order to get access to the large hole in the door so you can work with the latch and door ajar sensor.

Remove the three hex bolts holding the latch in place. This allows you to more easily access the sensor, which is located on the bottom of the latch.

Unhook the wiring connector for the sensor and twist the sensor out - counterclockwise while pulling w/pliers is what worked for me.

Install new sensor by pushing in and turning clockwise. There is a little triangular catch on one side - pay attention to ensure you hook it up in the right direction.

Re-assemble. I laid down a new bead of waterproofing sealant for the water barrier.

While the door was apart, I added some foam behind a couple of the plastic pieces that sometimes rattle. This snugged them up nicely.

Door no longer beeps, light doesn't flash, and I can enjoy a nice ride again with only the sound of exhaust and stereo.
