Default Material HOLD on manual tranny

I talked to my dealer yesterday asking why, after 12-weeks, my order is still clean and unscheduled. The Inventory Manager called Ford and was told there is a "material hold on manual transmissions on the GT" - that was the reason for the delay. I have no idea how long the hold will be.

But, I will still call Chatty every single day.

Probably because they are shipping out their build stock as warranty replacement units for the existing ones that are grinding. I think Earl had to wait a week or two to get his because it was backordered. He might have your tranny

I think your dealer is full of crap. I ordered mine April 5. I got my VIN March 24. My dealer said my car would be built in the first two weeks opf June. I called Ford and confirmed this. I am told by my dealer and Ford that I will have my car in early July. And I live in the middle of nowhere in western Canada. I would imagine that an American dealer can get the cars earlier. I'm pretty sure your dealer is feeding you a load of crap.

I'm a Ford stockholder and they are saying that they've got lots of issues with suppliers right now. Ford's credit rating has been reduced. I wonder if the delay is more the supply chains fault and not the dealers.
If they run out of 5-speed trannys, especially due to having to replace some of them, expect a wait.

grinding is a driver issue.

Yes a week. And unfortunately the new tranny makes more noise then the old one did. I'll probably work up the pissed offed nerves enough to take it in again next week.

This is one manual owner that is wishing he'd gotten an auto just to not have the freakin tranny problems.

And it isn't grinding noise but whining and knocking noises. As per the TSB if there are metal shavings on the magnet they replace the thing. NOT a driver issue.

Mines a little Clunky goin' in to 2nd, and it whines in 5th, but I think I'll keep it as is. Seems like some of the fixes for probs on these cars are worse than if we left 'em alone. I know my replacement Shaker 500 sounds worse than the original.

Tell me about it. My replacement Shaker 500 doesn't skip or miss the end of songs like the "A" unit did, but it does sound alot worse - too much mushy base.

I haven't taken the new tranny in yet...probably won't as long as the noises don't get worse. Guess I can just turn on that damn Shaker and not here them huh?

I will have to take it in at sometime though. I had the dealership tint the windows when I bought it and sure enough they didn't put a felt strip down in the window seal channel and so I have scratches on the film....grrrrr....
