Default Installing AVH-P4000DVD

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me. I am installing a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD in my '06 GT. I have read on a few other threads that you can install a switch to make the unit believe that the parking brake is on and allow the unit to play DVD's while the car is moving. My question is what kind of a switch do I need? I was at Radio Shack and they had switches rated for different levels of amps and volts but I am the world's last electrician. Any input would be appreciated.

most aftermarket radios just have a wire that you hook to the parking brake that when you put the parking brake on is grounds the wire telling the radio that its parked, all you need to do it run that wire to ground and it will work fine while moving.

Exactly what xargon said if you got the ford wire harness just solder or crimp the parking wire from the radio with the ground wire from the wiring harness.

some of the newer model in dash dvd systems you have to put a switch in the ground wire, dont really know why but mine does it to, just flp the switch a couple of times and then it will work but not if i just leave it in the on position.

Thanks for the advice. My new radio won't come in until after Christmas but I'm just trying to get ready because I will be frustrated if I can't get it to work right away. A friend of mine said he'd help me and that all I need is a continuous ground. Sounds a little what you guys are saying. Thanks again, hopefully I will get it to work.
