Anyone ever have flames come out there mufflers?
I was wondering and did a little search but couldn't really find anything except for people talking about putting something in there exhaust to cause flames to shoot out the pipe. I was making a video of my new x pipe and when my car got reved to about 5500rpms I had some flames shoot out my tail pipes. I am just curious to why it did that. Would that of hurt my motor? Can anyone help me out?

nope, hasn't happened to me.
i would guess, though, some fuel probably isn't getting burned in your engine and it's getting sent through your exhaust and igniting on the way out... (i could be totally wrong about that too)

Idk if it would harm it, seems like it wouldn't since a lot of the ricers like to make their cars throw flames in the back...

how ya doing mustanglouie
i am curious if it's simply because of
having no cats...
maybe if more people come in here
who don't have hot rod cams and
say they get the same effect with
no cats, then we'll know it's normal
for your configuration

hey hammeron. I didn't really think about me not have cats. That would probably be the reason I would think for seeing the flames. I have it on a video I made so when I get it posted up on you tube I will make another thread showing it.
