Default Heat Deterant/Shield!!!

Well I think Im going to drill holes up into the bottom of the body to run my side exhaust up into the body and then to run it out the side behind the door through two tips like the GT-R concept but I want to wrap all the tubing inside the cab with heat shield type stuff and then I want to put heat type stuff on all the panels around the tubing to ensure that it wont be an issue. Please if anyone has any ideas please let me know Im not sure where to buy the heat shield stuff or what type to use etc.

Thanks John

My first thoughts are ..potential hazard from deadly exhaust fumes, fire from plastic panels gettin' too hot, possible loss of performace due to tight bends, and having one side of the exhaust blaring into your left ear. BTW, where would the mufflers be in this, ah, arraingement? As for the heat shield feces, I bet Summitt Racing can set you up. They give out free catalogs, too.

IMHO, I wouldn't do it. Why butcher the underbody of the car? But again its your car.

Well for starters I already have a side exiting exhasut, the only problem is its really low postitioned under the side rocker which means i scrape on alot of things such as speed bumps and driveways and my car isnt even lowered. So my plan was to run up through the floors behind the rockers and shoot the exhaust out just like the GT-R which I think would look sick and then I could lower my car an inch or so and make it look really sweet. Also I wouldnt be doing this myself Im going to be working with a body shop to do it and then have my ehaust guy bend the tubing to go up. My only thing is the heat part I think I could wrap the tubing in that heat shield stuff and then also apply it to all the sheet metal around the tubing and that I would be fine as to protecting everything.

Thanks John

What do you mean behind the rockers?

The tunnel between the seat and the door?
Theres lots of wires in there.
Heat and wires dont play well together.
There is also brake lines and fuel line in the same area you are planning on hacking up.

Might wanna think about resale value too, I would run from a car that had its frame butchered up like that.
The floorpan is the frame on these cars if I am not mistaken.
It could greatly weaken the frame.
