Dude, that's Underbird, as in the late Alan Kulwicki's # 7 Nascar championship winning Hooter's T-Bird.

I don't have any pics of the player, but it is a Double DIN player with 7" HD screen and all the options you want to pay for. JVC also sells an adapter that trims out the opening and it looks factory flush.

The DVD/CD player is behind the screen. It opens fully to reveal the player and the SD slot. The screen is also detachable or can be mounted permanently, depending on your preference. The standard USB interface has a 5' long cable that you can run into the console as I have done and you can connect any USB type drive, including any FAT32 formatted hard drive.

I have a 16GB SD card and a 16GB USB jump-drive connected today, with over 500 hours of Classic Rock and Roll. No Hip-Hop, Pop or Country for this old man.

Personally, I think it's hands-down the best (and only) 7" player on the market for the price that I paid.

Sounds good but is there any way of changing the background image?

You can have it display the track info in a scrolling format, album art, etc. Or just a clock and the different icons for changing options. Note that it is a touch screen, so it displays these icons so you can change settings via touch or via the remote.

There are about three or four different color backgrounds and a couple of different wallpaper settings. I don't believe the wallpaper is "customizable" as you said, but I would suspect that option would become available via a software upgrade at some point. You can have it scroll photos, but I'm also not sure if that works while you are playing tracks.

Here's the link to their site if you want to read more about the unit. Owners manual and installer manual are available in .pdf also.

I'm not so concerned about having the NAV -or- even a DVD ... just wanted something to fill the whole gap .. so I'm getting the new Kenwood DPX503 head unit.

I'll have to post pics once I get it installed.
