"Leather" seats

Sometimes I'll spray the entire interior down on a Friday night and let it sit "wet" until wiping it down on saturday evening. Still looks as good or even BETTER than new.
Not to mention (though daily driver) for the life of the car it has been garaged both at home and at work every day.

YES leather has to be cared for intensely to stay pliable, soft and uncracked.
There's not a week that goes by that I don't use some meguire's leather cleaner/wipes on them and seriously condition them every month.
My car is now 1 1/2 years old and a friend got in the other day... said WOW, it smells like new car.. smell that leather.. lol. I don't eat or smoke in it (drinking in it is another matter lol) and detail monthly. makes all the difference.

I have a coworker that had a "peanut butter pie" melt in his passenger seat once.. He was too embarassed to let me know and let me sit in it. I never rode in that goddamn little suv again lol.
That may even be worse than cat **** smell.

On a Ford factory 'Leather Trimmed' seat, the areas I've highlighted in red are leather. The tan areas, and the entire back, are vinyl. The entire rear seat is vinyl as well.
You can tell this yourself if you go out to your car and look closely at the grain in the material.

Are you sure?
I've always heard it was the inset section with all of the tiny holes. the area around it sure looks like vinal to me. There has been several other threads about this elsewhere. I hope you are right though...............

According to Justang of Obsessive Detail (one of our sponsors):
"The whole seat is actually considered vinyl coated leather. It has a protective layer to it that will hold up better and it won't stain as easily as real leather."

Go to Roush website and look under overstock/clearance items under interiors. They are selling the leather kit for non seat airbaged cars for 600. I might get the yellow set but am debating how stupid it is to disconnect my side seat airbags.
