Default Stock GT cat back on V6?

I have the opportunity to go pick up a whole GT cat back for free (friend took it off and put something else on his GT), and I was wondering how it would bolt up on my six. Its everything from the H pipe to the mufflers. Would I need to buy anything else?

If anyone has experience with this setup please post. Any installation tips or feedback of the sound of this would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone has a silver gt rear bumper for sale that would be awesome

thanks

putting on a cat-back system means you would have to add some pipe to go between the cats and the exhaust system. I put one on a customers car last year. The pipe behind the cats has to be cut because it y's to a single piece. You then need to add pipe to go from the cut to the GT cat-back. And cut the valance, of course. It not hard to get right. It would look better with the GT cover, because the tips will stick out a little bit with the V6 cover. I used a cup from McDonalds, I think, as the template since it was exactly the same size as the passenger side hole.
The customer had a JBA exhaust, so it may be a bit different to install as a stock piece.

so it looks to me like you just need to cut the stock y pipe and fabricate some kind of pipes to fit from that cut to the H pipe? or will that H pipe fit right up to the cut

I'm not sure if the H pipe will fit onto the existing V6 pipes; the diameter might be bigger than the pipes descending from the cats. If it does fit, you need to cut out the y-pipe and put the h-pipe in its place. Below that, you can either use the existing passenger side mid pipe (if you cut out that counterweight thingee), or the one from your buddy's car. Everything else should fit fine.

The V6 has 2 1/4 inch pipe versus 2 1/2 inch (GT)... you've gotta deal with the diameter change, so there will be welding/pipefitting involved. A muffler shop can do it, but you won't be doing this in your driveway with the toolkit from your trunk.

Found THIS using the search function.
Maybe that will help answer your questions.
Bumper cutting is also involved.

What flavor GT does the friend drive?
An AUTO or a MANUAL GT?
Is yours an AUTO or a MANUAL GT?
If those are AUTO pipes/mufflers, stay away.
You are looking for the GT MANUAL mufflers
for that aggressive sound. Unless you are looking
for the whimpy AUTO muffler sound.

Yes, you will need the drivers side
muffler hangers and such.
