Default Dumb Question...but I need an answer.

I haven't tried it with the mustang because I'd rather not break anything...

but can you WOT shift a GT?

I know you can't do it with every vehicle...I could with my SRT-4 and got used to it. For anybody that doesn't know what it is- you've got the peddle all the way to the floor and in [just for example's sake] second gear. Then without letting off of the gas at all you blip the clutch just enough to throw it into 3rd [with the gas peddle still all the way down] and keep going.

I would love to be able to do this in the mustang, but I didn't know if it was possible or not. It was a LOT of fun in the SRT-4, but if it doesn't work in the mustang I'll just have to get faster to make up the lost time, lol.

I dont power shift and I am sure it is possible if you wanted to but cant guarantee how long the trans will last.

You can do it in any car. Not that it's really great idea. It will just bump the rev limiter when you depress the clutch.

No offense, but how do you know it's possible if you don't do it?

Have you done it before and chose not to do it again or seen someone else do it?

I can't afford to be replacing anything so I need to know for sure it can be done.

That's the only thing I miss about the SRT-4...WOT shifting when I had the .50 trim on it.

You mean in the mustang or any car? If you do it right, it won't hit the rev limiter...

It's possible but it will be hard unless you get a different shifter, a K member brace, and torque limiters.

Good lord guys, I do it all the time at the track. If you're a good driver (shifter) it's seamless and does nothing to the tranny. If you suck, you're going to grind gears and ruin synchros.

I second that...at least in the case of the SRT-4 [since I have never done it in the mustang] my experience was a lot of people messing up their syncros but only because they weren't doing it right.

When done right, it was smooth quiet and effective.
