Only if you let it.

45 years experience driving stick, and with all of the cars I've bought in about the last 37 being so equipped means you don't have to let that happen.

Is it always a hassle trying to find a DD who can drive stick if you've been drinking? (lets be realistic...)
Not if you teach her how to drive stick . That IS realistic unless you plan to fail in that effort.

Now I'll see what else has been posted . . .

Its preference, really depends on what you want to do with the car.

I love my auto, took a couple of tunes to get it right but it runs real strong and the shift points are just where they need to be if you got two tunes (1 street and 1 drag). I only drive it to work and the track typically to keep the miles low.

I have a buddy with a 2009 manual and its fun but I still prefer the AUTO, if you are gonna drag race alot, I got about 50 runs on mine, then AUTO is the way to go. I plan on keeping this car for a long time and turning it into a full blown race car when I get a new truck. If you want to road race obvsiouly you get a manual.

Now that being said if you are going to stay mostly stock and not do too many modifications, I would get a manual because on the street they are more fun and stock vs. stock the manual is a wee bit faster (with a good driver), but in traffic and for mundane daily driving (back and forth to work) + weekend warrior activity (DRAG) then I would get the AUTO.

IMHO
