^^^^I got you already covered on that one

"Finding a place to ground the radio is a bit tough but if you look down below where the radio is mounted, there are two screws sticking up from the base of the car. Ground to those."

ok, thanks guys. i put up a post about the vss wire at avic411.com, (finally got to sign up), and one guy said the f700bt doesnt use the vss wire. wtf?? i thought this wire for for nav accuracy or something like that. now i'm doubting that guy, bucause even the avic D3 used the vss wire and it's the old model.

this is becoming frustrating. but, i will just hang in there and keep at it and i will get it figured out before i install.

thanks again for the help to both of you. and to rcj2000, my username over there is One Bad Stang just like here if you want to try to find the post.

I'm not really sure if the install on the f700bt is similar to the Z2, but I had no problems with the install on the Z2. The install was actually really easy. I bought this wiring kit... PAC c2r-frd1... made the install super easy. I know it seems expensive, but its definately worth it. And you can find it cheaper on the web besides on this website

This link helped me out on my install/info

just take your time and dont rush it...you will be better it the long run. get as many opinions and answers to your questions because its a time comsuming install and it sucks to not get it right the first go around. I think i have heard in the past about the 700bt not having the vss wire and only the 900bt and 90bt have it but i am not sure on that. Im sure more people will come around and give you another answer or reconfirm the first answer. they have alot of knowledge people there but not as much traffic so sometimes it might take a 1 or 2 to get a couple of answer, but hang in there and it will come.

ok, its official, do the bypass by moving pins on mute wire, grounding mute w/ground and parking brake, and installing 5 volt fixed voltage regulator inline w/amp turn on signal wire. and the 700bt doesnt use the vss wire (not sure why, but it says it in pioneers website.

i think i got all bases covered. other than that confusing stuff, is there anything else that i need to know? just hook everything else up color to color?

oh, what about illumination wire?? ugh...

+1. I just looked up the price on Amazon and it's still the same. I will see if I can get my hands on this deal. I heard they are a near perfect fit in the S197's. Am I right?

yes they are a perfect fit in s197s mustang. everyone thinks its factory. I was having an alarm imstalled at an audio shop and they guy asked me, "when did ford start putting pioneer navis in their cars"

after you have the harnes its just like any other car install...only difference is that it takes up both din slots.

you should look into having a vss wire put in some how, because before i did my vss wire the navi was off about 100-300 ft. so it would tell me to turn while i was passing up or after i had already past the street. after the vss wire was hooked up it was DEAD on perfect.
