The best rear blackout panel
Does anyone know which of these holds up the best over time? I'm kinda eyeing the magnetic one that American Muscle sells pretty cheap. I'm not interested in the honeycomb style or the ones that require the removal of the faux gas cap. I just want a basic matte black blackout that'll fit well, not fall off, and not change color over time. It doesn't have to be magnetic, but I like that they're not too expensive. Can the magnetic ones be washed when washing the car or is it better to remove them and clean them separately? If you leave it on while washing the car can water get behind it? Do they scratch easily?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well, you've already eliminated the best! SHC honeycomb. Sorry, I'm not a fan of the magnetics or the flat black. Our Stangs are plain enough on the back side as it is...

No it's just some random girl I took a picture of and put up as my avatar...
lol, yeah, of course it's me.
I think the darker Mustangs, like Alloy and Black, look better with the honeycomb style than they do with the magnetic and vinyl style blackouts. The magnetics look best on lighter colors like white and silver, IMO. And with the honeycomb panels. It's not that I don't like it either... just that if I get a matte black single hood stripe I want the rear blackout to match it.

DO NOT get a magnetic panel. I didn't listen to other people's advice not to get one but I got one anyway and it ended up in the trash after about 3 months. The thing will shrink over time; at least mine did. The shrinking left a noticeable gap on the sides to where you can see the paint underneath. I ended up getting a silver vinyl deck delete from Baltimorestreetmods and I love it.
If you don't want vinyl then another alternative is this mylar blackout panel on Steeda's site.

It's what I was going to get before deciding to go with the silver vinyl.
