Default What's Your Maintence Schedule?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to make sure I was doing everything at the right time, so what does everyone due for maintence and at how many miles.

For me:

Oil and filter every 3,500 miles
Transmission fluid every 35,000 miles

If you have a super charger what else do you do? I have a saleen supercharger and I'm wondering if there is any other maintence that I need to do special? Like how often do I change the belt and so on?

Thanks,

Nick

Oil change frequencies is a can of worms.

IMO, under normal conditions:

dyno oil - oik/filter changes every 3,000 miles
synthetic blend - oil/filter changes every 5,000 - 7,500 miles
full synthetic - oil/filter changes every 8,000 - 10,000 miles

Fuel system cleaner every 8,000-10,000 miles

Replace fuel filter every 25,000 -50,000 miles

Other fluid changes every 30,000 - 60,000 miles based on driving conditions

Radiator flush every 60,000 miles or 5 years, whichever comes first.

EDIT: Other than the oil/filter changes, the other maintenance activities are not as time-critical causing no significant harm if extended.

And now the onslaught from others...

I use Techron which is popular with the forum. I'm sure there are other good brands.

The car should have come with a booklet stating maintenance intervals and what is to be done at each service.

Some people do more than what is called for there.

Any special requirements for the supercharger though?

Thanks,

Nick

I do every 3000 on oil and 30,000 on tranny fluid. There are others that say less often but it is cheap insurace for me. Dirty oil means wear on internal parts. IMO How many of you do your own changes? Ever look at it after 3000 miles? Black as coal and doesn't look nice. I have torn engies apart when people extend the time/milage and the inside of the motor has a layer of crude oil coating everything! Sometimes it looks more like grease!
