Default Faster than a speeding Bullitt?

So my wife got me a JLT/SCT combo for my birthday last week and sometime in late spring and early summer I’m going to get some 3.73s installed to replace my 3.31s. I was thinking that should give me a fairly potent package and one that will really liven up the car a bit… but then I got to thinking that the Bullitt is basically the same package. Granted the Ford tune on the Bullitt isn’t as aggressive as say a Brenspeed tune, but they do come with the 3.73 gears.

I plan to do Kooks LT and highflow cats sometime in the future… but that might not happen for a year or so. I know that will push the performance of the car to another level, but I’m wondering if right now I’m just building a car that will, for all intents and purposes, just be equal in (straight line) performance to a Bullitt… I guess I kind of was originally thinking it would be more than that.

The Bullitt has upgraded suspension too. You'll have more power than a Bullitt, but the Bullitt will be able to put it down a little better.

All I can tell you is this....

My 05, with a 91 octane VMP tune, shorty headers, UD pullies, and delete plates, is quicker than our stock Bullitt.......

But not by much. My 4.10's will get me the hole shot, but if the Bullitt gets out on me from a roll, It's doubtful I can catch it.......

I call BS and think you should hand me both sets of keys to further analyze...

Hmmm... interesting.

Guess I'll need to get the Kooks sooner than I'd originally thought.

don't forget to add the better brakes (or is it just pads?) that the Bullitt comes with!
