Default What's the deal temperature or my heavy wax, nothing sticks to my car?
So I'm up in the mountains for the weekend and it's far below zero. I tried attaching stuff with 3m tape to my car to mock it up but it wouldn't stick at all.

So what's the sufficient cause of preventing the 3M tape from working? Temperature or wax?

like 95% sure your supposed to be above 65 degres to attach 3m tape

temperature....didnt you read they recommend like 55+ weather for that stuff

Its the cold temps AND the wax/foreign substance.
Above 70 degrees for 3M Acrylic tape installs.
And use 3M 4298 Adhesion Promoter For The Win.

Both!......attach in 60 deg or above preferably and leave for 24 hrs!
