We had both of our GT's supercharged at the same time. I decided to trade my gt/cs for a GT500. I have about 100rwhp more than my blown gt and it's way cheaper to make faster.
Also, my car doesn't have a blown motor. The hubby's has a nice hole in the block

I was just at the Detroit auto show yesterday, and I must admit, come this spring, considering the past 4 years up to this spring 09" when the new lines of Mustangs, GT500's, New Camaro, SC challengers, Corvettes, and all the other brands go fast cars will be and are out, there are more great looking and fast cars to chose from than I ever thought there would be in my adult lifetime right now.

If the GT500 07 platform came with an aluminium block, I'd have bought one 6 months ago.

I love my Mustang GT, and at 3545lbs, and 475rwhp(545HP) it's like having a 600HP GT500 that floats through corners. I'm still in love with it. Erik

Default Made a decision & first impressions

Well, I decided to go GT500. Picked up a pristine '07 - black with titanium LeMans stripes with the red accent interior - fully loaded. Beautiful!

My first impressions:
The ride is definitely more choppy than the GT. Cornering is much more precise and the steering is significantly tighter. The car definitely feels and handles like it's heavier than a GT. Acceleration is impressive - I get strangled by my seatbelt after hard launches. The twin-disc clutch is closer to a racing clutch than the GT stock unit. It has more free play, then actuates over a much shorter distance, and is more grabby (less smooth) compared to the GT. This is expected.

Compared to a Kenne Bell blown GT (463 rwhp):
The GT feels noticeably quicker. The KB twin-screw blower provides significantly more low-end than the GT500's Whipple Roots unit. Whereas the KB GT pulls hard at ~2300 RPM, the GT500 doesn't really push until ~2600-2800 RPM. The GT is looser in cornering and has more trouble getting power to the pavement - especially if the road is rough.

CAI/Pulley Swap/tune = +100 rwhp, swap the blower and injectors and you can have 675-725 to the tire

if I had it to do over, I'd get the GT500 (especially now that the 500s can be for less than sticker)

my .02
I agree and same here....would have bought a GT500 if I could get less than sticker!

It is a roots type S/C but NOT a whipple

Congrats on the buy!
