Default My Stang is DAMAGED!!!

Well... it happend... I was visiting family back home in Indiana and I came back to this...

The cause was workers re-doing all the roofing at my apartment complex.... They were just throwing shingles off the roof and the hit my car..... I contacted the apartment complex, they said it wasnt their problem and gave me the number to the contractor in charge.. He has been extremely cooperative and told me of another incident of shingle damage... The car is going in monday for an estimate, as of now he says he will take care of it all... We will see...

Any info/help you guys can give me would be awesome. I have a feeling I am going to get stuck with this... HELP ME!!

If he takes the bill, get a new spoiler it would be cheaper than fixing that one honestly. Sounds like an excuse for a mod to me...

You must not have known about the planned reroofing?
Did the manager not inform the renters of the planned construction?
All that damage from one shingle or many hitting it over and over?
That bites. I would have liked to get that on video.

They never informed me of the roofing, I didnt even know it was the cause until they told me when I went into the office. I was told by the contractor that they were throwing big chunks of shingles off the roof's onto the ground. Our parking it really close to the base of the apartments.... I would have LOVED to have gotten it on video.

I knew what it was the second I saw the photos without reading the text.
The amount of shingle they left overhanging in the 6th photo that sticks
straight out is a big indication that the roof had just been reshingled.
They shingles kinda fold over the edge after it gets hot a few times.

CCTV FTW!

ok....not too bad. R&I R tail, R&I spoiler (w/ 1hr repair + refinish) Repair Qtr. Pnl. for 2hrs. pull RR Qtr. Glass for paint(might want some flush mounted louvers while one glass is coming out.) + Roof molding. Blend Sail panel + R&I R rocker molding. Add EPC/Cover Car/Corrosion Protection. Refinish w/i Qtr. panel, no blend into door.

It wont be that much work but make sure its a good shop that does the work. I write estimates all day every day and I can tell you as an adjuster in my younger years, the majority of shops are chop shops, even the ones that your insurance company tells you is a recommended shop.

Dude, that is NOT real damage! We were all expecting something much, much worse! LOL!
Most of us could buff that out enough that you probably wouldn't notice it. But in case the clearcoat is deeply scratched under that tar you'll need a professional to fix it.

Id suggest you get those photos printed and write a letter to the contractor saying you will begin legal proceedings if not compensated for the repairs. Get a reasonable estimate and include it along with copies of the photos.
