Haha!
It's part of the hardware for the V6 intake... It didn't clear the engine cover, made it sit too high etc...
I used the V8 Shaker because the sixxer is butt ugly sice it says "Mustang" on the passenger side only.
The driver side has this huge hole to access the oil cap and it interfere with the lettering.
So once again, I pulled my improvisation Manual.

Hey aircare, I like what you did with the trim job and looks like added rubber trim? Can you give details, thinking about something like that and don't like how the plastic currently rubs and leaves that white dust behind...

Toy4Bob
I trimmed the shroud along the edge marked in the attached pic using a Dremel & cut-off wheel.
I bought some generic door weatherstrip @ Autozone & put along the trimmed edge. It's the kind of weatherstrip that has the wire moulded into a 'U' channel that you can slip onto an edge.

As hot as these 3V motors run, I was concerned about all the heat the plastic shroud was keeping under it.
Plus, I like the 'old school' look of the original Shakers better than the new plastic version.

i dont think you'll see any increase in power. only thing it'll do is lower engine bay temps
