Default Oil

Oil is the one thing you don't want to cheap out on. Amsoil if you want the best. Mobil 1 or Pennzoil are next best. I use Amsoil 0W20, Amsoil filter and change it 10K-15K miles. Just be sure to stay with synthetic.

wow ok im going against everyone else but i would go standard ford 5-20 and ford filter for this change only. this allows the motor a little extra time to break in. be sure youve done alot of high rpm driving before you switch to full synthetic. the motor needs to break in.
after this change i would go full synthetic mobil 1 and ford filter... JMO but i didnt switch to synthetic in my beast untill 10k kms

Mobil 1 is not even close to Amsoil. Royal Purple is better than Mobil 1 if you want to use that.

Non-synthetic oil is fine. The only reason you may need a synthetic or blend is extreme conditions, i.e high temp, extreme cold, extreme time between changes etc. Back in the day when I was involved with (industrial) lubricants, synthetics were really strong in some areas and weak in others compared to standard oils. I'm sure synthetics have improved immensely since then.

I've used standard oils in all my vehicles until I bought my GT. Now I use synthetics, even though I believe it is overkill....

synthetic (whatever you choose) is best but should only be used once your motor is well broke in.
Go about 10K kms before switching to synthetic if you choose to. (6k miles)
synthetic is too slippery to allow proper break in

Most all Super Cars (Corvette, Viper, Porsche, GT 500(I think)) come factory filled with Mobil 1

dont forget that the srt8s come factory with synthetic but i still stand by my post that a engine must be broken it properly with a standard oil first

Id say synthetic. In the long run it will be worth it.
