Loctite isn't user friendly... and it's still not an anti-vibration.
I avoid it as much as I can.
On some applications, you have to use it. Flywheel bolts etc...

The washers provided with the Hurst are too flimsy.
After the first snug of installation, despite the Loctite, they'll lose a bit of thickness and your handle will have some play and vibrations.
To avoid that, you have to crank those bolts real hard. Not easy, given they're Allen type.

I like a piece of mind when I do things, so I use different bolts with a jam nut on the other side. I make sure to crank everything really hard.

I took a couple of layers of leftover "dynamat". Placed it foil layer back to back and used that as a gasket.

Not only did it keep the bolts from backing out but also served as a vibration and heat insulator. worked great! until I sold the hurst and the guy wanted to know what all the black goo around the handle was.

blue locktight, red is too strong, yes i like the dynamat idea, but i would still locktight it. as for the nut and bolt idea.. never thought of it but i like it and yes it should work but i would use a stover (plactic backed nut)
rule of thumb if your gonna use hand tools go blue, if you can get an impact on it go red, if your never gonna take it apart EVER go green.. (be warned some fasteners can snap before green gives)

The "lock washers" that come with it are a joke. They are not meant to be cranked down as tight as you need to drank the bolts down. I picked up 2 real lock washers along with loc-tite and haven't had a problem since.
