just like anything else, all the manufacturers have different methods when they produce thier hoods, some clearcoat and some dont, some use UV goodies and others dont.

a freind a few years back was given a CF hood for his CRX because it was so trashed,it looked really really bad. We went to town on it with the orbital sander, wetsanded it nice and smooth and re sprayed it. looked just like new.

i have had mine now for 8 months, looks like new.

(yes,i am picture whoring my self)

NICE *****.. is that unpainted CF? It's hard to tell on dark cars. CF looks great and matches the paint so well you can't tell unless you look at a certain angle on my alloy car.

People all the time stop in their tracks to stare and ask what my hood is made of. lol

VIS is the best. They will have a great gel-coat and you won't have to worry about discoloration.

i have a VIS, CF hood is only about 17 pounds. the stock hood is 33 pounds.

my VIS could have been better, the quality is about a 7 out of 10. nothing i cant fix with a few layers of clearcoat.

Today i installed carbon fiber mirror covers and i could see the difference was even worst. What can i do to get the hood back to non-yellow lol.
is this happening with your IPP hood?
