C&L / JLT II MAF housing size?

Not really. The way I see it the stock intake size is already big enough for optimal flow to the throttle body. The problem with the stock intake is the filter, and the corrugations in the intake tube itself. That's why some people with K&N intakes will have the same results as people with JLT's and C&L's. The only reason I think you'd absolutely NEED a larger intake is if you had a larger throttle body such as a BBK or GT500. For a 62mm BBK you'd need at least a JLT with its 89mm MAF, and for the 65mm GT500 you would need at least a C&L Racer with its 95mm MAF. I derived those figures just by comparing the area of the inlets on the intakes and throttle bodies, they don't have anything to do with CFM so they might and could be completely wrong. But it could explain why some people have tons of problems with bigger TB's and some don't.

from what i read the racer is only worth maybe 1hp or so in a mild motor and actually is worse in the low/mid range. i suppose that makes the JLT a good compromise between the two. i've been eyeballing a C&L on ebay thats used but in good shape and still pretty cheap. guess i'll be having bamachips make me some new tunes

C&L Racer: $110
Diablo Predator: $190
Steeda Billet CMDP's: $80
Pypes O/R X-pipe: $60
Hurst STS: $130 (bought this back when they were impossible to find)
Actually, I just bought a SCT Livewire for $110. Only bad part was it's locked so I'll need to pay a little bit to have it unlocked. Still a much better price than new.
