i found that my stock headlights seem very white to me. it might also be because my car is relatively brand new still.

i have had mine in for over 2 years now and never have they burned out. I got all 4 silverstars for under $50 and wouldnt think of getting anything else or paying out the *** for the PIAA lights.

They might be slightly yellow still but when you have all 4 replaced you would think they are white as it gets without getting into the blueish tint.

I'm telling you, the PIAA bulbs are white. I will try to get a pic of PIAA's on my truck posted for you later, once it's dark......and after UFC 94 of course.

Curious.....

Anyone know what the stock headlight housing are rated for? I mean, could a 85 watt bulb be too hot for them? Heck, I don't even know how much wattage the stock bulbs produce.

i'm not doubting or anything, just curious. and i believe blackice is right, oem is either 55/60 or 55/65. i don't know if the original housing can safely hold anything more than that, but i have heard horror stories in the past of people using higher wattage than what's recommended

The housing is NOT designed for more then OEM wattage

DO NOT do it esp the cheap Asian ones off Ebay.....(no offense to the race just where they come from)....you dont need any fires

OEM is 55 watt and
HID is 35 watt but more light output....retro solutions offers a 55 watt version as well... you can get them for the Hi/Lo beams as well now.

Joolander- I think 5000K is the way to go for pure white with really no discernible blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!
