Finally got in touch with my dealer and he gave me the VIN. I'm still three weeks from build week so I won't check on it yet.
I'll be on a cruise next week - so I can't check until the 21st.

This guys said the end of June was the cut off for builds too - but I don't believe him. He also tried to sell me the "Package"
for $399 that includes paint sealant, "sound barrier" (undercoating) and something they put on the entire interior. That's all crap
isn't it? Translated "profit". OH, but it's warranty is 5 years!

and if it were me, I would pass on the "Profit" stuff, but that's just me...

Oh I'll pass... I know better. They just better hope they don't try jacking the price on me when I get there. I'm just a big ol' Teddy Bear until someone ticks me off.
BTW - This guy is just the manager that does the orders - he's not even a salesman.
But he said HE was getting it for sure on his '06 GT - didn't want to laugh at him until after the car gets here.
AND for all you Auto guys - he's getting an auto (yes, 5-speed auto
I started to ask him why he wasn't getting the 6-speed ...

Hey, I ordered mine on 3/11, Torch Red Premium GT, 5-speed manual, 17" rims, IUP, locking wheels... and I still do NOT have a VIN. I called my dealer last week and the inventory manager told my salesman that there was a material hold on manual transmissions. After reading this thread I think they must be feeding me some BS here. I'm calling them back right now. Maybe they are having an allocation problem (but it's a very big dealership). What do you guys think

If you have the Dealer Code, order number, Body Style (T82) you can call Chatty Cathy.
You may have a build date and they just aren't telling you... SURELY you have one by now.

Oh, I call Chatty every single day. Still Clean and Unscheduled. But, I think if a dealer has no allocations you cannot have a "clean and unscheduled" order sitting there. So, I don't know what to do. Sure would be happy with a VIN assigned any day now. Right about now that would be just a nice as having the car delivered!

I am still waiting on my 11/17/04 order. Vin was assigned on 5/26 and schedule build 6/27. I got tired of waiting and placed a second order at another dealer on 3/23. That order is still C/U. I got tired of waiting again and on 5/13 I seen one on the dealers internet site and bought it the next day. Since the 11/17/04 order is serialized, I am going to buy that one to.

supposedly my dealer has a VIN#, and will be calling me later this week with a delivery date est.

Congrats. on your GT now you have to wait and think about all the mods.you want to do and boy they can get expensive.
