"Fish Scales" on glass

This is quite common on our Stangs but for some reason I don't get similar spotting on my other vehicles. I wonder if Ford uses a coating that's more prone to this. I'll keep some of the suggestions above in mind.

RainX makes a mean glass cleaner/polisher/conditioner.
Also there is a product that should only be used as
a last resort because it can damage the paint.
CLR CalciumLimeRust remover.
Treat it like acid to paint but OK on glass.
Have someone handy with the 'fire extinguisher'
water hose if you plan on using it so they can
flush the painted areas asap if any CLR accidentally
gets on the paint.

Toothpaste works.....
I had really bad water spots, so bad driving at night in the rain was scary due to the haze from the water spots. I tried scrubs, vinagar, concentration mixes and no luck. I saw an old auto body shop, poped in and asked them he said plain cheap white toothpaste on a wet towel. Sure enough i polished my windsheild, than cleaned up the mess with Rain-x cleaner. It was like a brand new windsheild for a dollar.
I was too affriad to use 0000 steel wool, and the same guy told me about using a buffer, make sure you don't get it too hot. It will warp the glass and you'll have distortion.
this is a cell pic of my problem. I not only had hazy water spots after the wiper blades would wipe but there the wipers would stop water would build there. This pic was scubed and had a double coat of rain-x 2 week before taking the pic with only 3 rain storms. Now you would never know.
