Default Does the 540hp GT500 make up for the lack of power in the new GT?

Since so many people were disappointed with the slight power upgrade for the 2010 Mustang GT, does the new GT500 fix that problem? Read about the 2010 GT500 specs here.

i dont think it really makes up for anything. When you talk about general out look of the mustang you are for surely not talking about the 500 cause you don't see many. Whether your street racing or at the track you see the GT's. Thats how the mustang is represented.

Folks with the 500 don't worry too much about this...
They know they can have a beast with a couple of Grands spent under the hood.
So I don't think it's a problem...

yes this is so true....with $1100 I am at where I am at.....I like it...if I want more just about 4k more and I am there....but I think I can live with my over 600 hp at the crank...as the sig says....
Not as fast as some, but not as slow as some think....

The main thing is that the GT is intended to be an affordable ride.
The Cobra, not really.

It sits well with some folks, not so much with some other.
Not everyone ever gonna always be happy...

Overall I think you can just say that compared to the challenger or new camaro, its sad to see the number 1 selling muscle car in america be out performed. But it always has been honestly by chevy or dodge. All you can hope for is that the mustang stays where it has always been popularity, and selling wise.

God, i wish they were selling less right now...
I love the uniqueness of s197's.
Sure there are already alot out there, but still a great car, and not as over populated as slightly older mustangs or civics/accords.

As for the power, Id rather see Ford selling them with a small increase.
That way when we race challengers and win, it looks better on us
I gotta start working on some mods... need a better cash flow

Yea but hopefully in 2011 the GT gets the 5.0 and can compete again.
